Aqua Adventures is San Diego’s original specialty watersports outfitter, proudly serving the community since 2000. Located directly on the beautiful shores of Mission Bay, we make it easy to get on the water—whether you’re looking to rent a kayak, paddleboard, hydrobike or Duffy electric boat, join a tour or lesson, or find the perfect kayak or paddleboard to take home.
From first-time paddlers to experienced racers and adventurers, our goal has always been the same: provide exceptional customer service, quality equipment and the knowledge to help every person have an amazing experience on the water.
Our waterfront shop offers a wide selection of kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, paddles and accessories, along with specialty equipment including fishing kayaks, touring kayaks, pedal kayaks, surfskis, canoes and high-performance carbon fiber and fiberglass equipment. We also offer rentals, lessons, guided experiences, tours and special events throughout the year.

Meet the Team
In the year 2000, a dream was born when Greg Knight and the esteemed five-star BCU sea kayak instructor, Jen Kleck, founded what would become Aqua Adventures. Over the years, this institution became a cornerstone of Mission Bay's paddlesports community. However, in 2017, a new chapter began when U.S. Army Veteran Craig Seering, along with his wife Ashleigh Conaway, took the helm of Aqua Adventures.
With passion and dedication, Craig and Ashleigh have transformed their quiet corner of Mission Bay into a bustling hub for all things paddlesports. Their journey has not only reinvigorated Aqua Adventures but also ignited a vision that extends beyond the water.
Aqua Adventures now offers an array of rentals and instructional services, covering everything from sea kayaks to stand-up paddleboards (SUPs). Yet, their vision goes beyond watercraft; it encompasses the creation of a wellness lounge featuring yoga sessions, culinary delights, refreshing libations, and even live music at the Aquarius Bar & Grill. This transformation has breathed new life into the Mission Bay Jetty, making it a vibrant and inviting destination for all.
This one-stop shop has evolved into an ideal haven for paddlers, the local community, and tourists alike. Here, you can embark on your waterborne adventures, relish the joy of recreational paddling, savor a delicious meal, and then unwind with a soothing massage or invigorating yoga session. It's an experience like no other in Mission Bay.

Shawn & Duke
Shawn, one of our longtime team members at Aqua Adventures, brings a unique blend of military discipline, dedication, and warm-hearted charm to our community. A proud Army veteran, Shawn's commitment to serving others has always extended far beyond his years in uniform.
For many years, Shawn had a very special sidekick by his side—a tiny but mighty teacup Chihuahua named Duke, who quickly became a beloved member of the Aqua Adventures family.
Duke was more than just a furry friend. He was our unofficial mascot, greeter, and one of the smallest personalities at the shop with a truly unforgettable presence. His wagging tail, cuddles, and sweet personality had a way of making everyone who walked through our doors feel welcome.
Sadly, we lost Duke in 2025. While we miss seeing his little face around Aqua Adventures, his memory remains a special part of our story. Duke touched the hearts of countless customers, friends, and team members, and he'll always be remembered as a beloved part of the Aqua Adventures family.

Allow us to introduce you to the living legend of Aqua Adventures, affectionately known as "Santa" Pat. With a twinkle in his eye and a heart as deep as the ocean, Pat embodies the spirit of a true waterman.
A seasoned adventurer of the seas, Pat's love affair with the water spans a lifetime. From gracefully rolling sea kayaks to fearlessly riding waves, he's a master of the aquatic realm. His journeys have taken him far and wide, from the serene waters of Baja to destinations beyond, all in pursuit of the perfect paddling experience.
But Pat's adventures extend beyond the waters; they reach into the skies. As an Air Force Veteran, he knows what it means to soar to great heights, and he brings that same unwavering dedication and discipline to his life at Aqua Adventures.
Pat's tenure at Aqua Adventures spans a significant chapter in our history. With his wealth of experience and his infectious passion for all things aquatic, he has become an invaluable part of our team. His enduring commitment to our community and his boundless enthusiasm for waterborne adventures make him a beloved figure among staff and customers alike.
