Many great sea kayaking trips require that you launch and land through small to moderate surf. This can be intimidating and dangerous without a few basic skills. In this class, we'll learn to evaluate the size and power of waves at potential launching and landing sites, as well as how to launch and land our sea kayaks safely through 1-3 foot high waves. Students should know how to perform a low brace and sweep strokes. Take our "Basics" course if these are unfamiliar terms. This class is suitable for closed cockpit, or sit-on-top kayaks. Kayak rental is included in the cost.
