For those who have taken our Introduction to Whitewater course, or the equivalent, and are looking for the next challenge! We'll continue to improve the skills learned in the introductory course while paddling slightly more challenging water.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Whitewater or equivalent.
We'll meet at our campsite on the Upper Kern River near Kernsville. Most people will arrive Friday evening, but class officially starts Sat. morning. Meals are provided from Sat. breakfast to Sun. breakfast. Any camping fees are not included in the price of the class.
Day 1: Review of foundation skills on simple class II whitewater. Tune-up of Eskimo rolls in moving water. Application of foundation skills on Powerhouse Run.
Day 2: Another Powerhouse run with emphasis on using the river to your advantage and surfing. We'll finish about 3 p.m.
