Become an American Canoe Association certified SUP instructor!  This is a 3 day Instructor Development Workshop (IDW) and Instructor Certification Exam  (ICE) combination.  Participants must be at least 18 years old and must be competent flat-water SUP paddlers. Teaching experience is recommended, but not required.  All participants will receive skills training while we focus on developing instructor skills.  Possible assessment outcomes are: No pass.  Pass at Level 1 SUP instructor.  Pass at Level 2 SUP instructor.  Please read all pertinent material to ensure the best possible outcome!  ACA certified instructors must maintain membership with the ACA.  Visit www.americancanoe.org for details.

Your dog probably spends most of his or her time at home alone.  Hobbies and activities that involve your dog can enrich both your lives!  Your dog needs both phgysical and mental stimulation and there's nothing like a kayak excursion to Fiesta Island to meet those needs!  This FREE clinic helps you introduce your pup to kayaks and SUPs in a way that will ensure enjoyment and success for all!  We will not be getting on the water during this clinic.  You can bring your dog, or just come to watch so you know how to make your dog's first outing awesome!  

We recommend bringing your dog's favorite treats.  If your dog is "clicker" savvy, bring your clicker!  Dogs must be leashed and under control.

Prerequisites: Dogs must be well behaved and not aggressive towards people or dogs.  Dogs must be on 6' leash at all times

Learn the basics of balance, stance, steering, efficiency, and paddling for fitness. Our boards are stable and fun and SUPing is easier than you think!

This lesson will prepare you to rent SUPs confidently, give you valuable information to help you choose the best board for you to buy, and prepare you for learning more advanced skills.  No experience is necessary!  You don't even have to know how to swim as long as you are comfortable floating in a PFD (lifejacket).

SUPing is easy!  But it's more fun, and a better work-out if you get a little guidance in proper technique and injury-free body mechanics!  We can fit your schedule with a private lesson for you and your friends!  Just call to arrange a time.

Our tour and lesson prices include a 10% fee collected by the City of San Diego to maintain and improve Mission Bay Park.

This is your class once you have mastered basic SUP skills in calm water and you want to explore rougher offshore waters and the surf zone, places that require additional skills and knowledge to have fun and enjoy safely.

In this class you will learn advanced skills such as paddling through rough water and surf, effective upwind/downwind paddling, "railroading" open ocean swells, and navigating efficiently through wind and currents. In addition you will learn about boards and equipment suited for rough water and offshore conditions. Emphasis is on safe and efficient open water paddling,

This is NOT a 'learn to surf' class.
